Toshiba has terminated its air conditioning distribution deal with AMP following last week’s acquisition of AMP by rival Japanese manufacturer Panasonic.
An official announcement and further information is expected in the next few days.
Panasonic’s acquisition last Friday of one of the UK’s largest specialist air conditioning distributors caused consternation amongst its three existing suppliers Toshiba, Fujitsu and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
At a press conference on Wednesday, AMP director Martin Michaelson confirmed that they were in talks with all three suppliers in what was described as “a very fluid situation”.
